When I 14 years old, I was CHUBBY. About to embark upon a new high school in a new town, I decided to to something about that chub. But what? I was stuck in Minnesota with nothing to do? (The thought of bike riding on the miles of awesome paths, or swimming at the pool down the block never occured to me). All I did was watch Swan's Crossing at 1PM and Beverly Hills 90210 each Thursday at 7PM. I had to find something to fill the time, preferably on TV.
Enter Gilad. I discovered him while channel surfing one morning. He is this old muscly dude with a thick accent and TIGHT spandex who has a 1/2 exercise show each morning. And it was at 10:30... so it TOTALLY didn't interfere with Swan's Crossing. THANK GOD. I jumped up and started doing his crazy squats and push-ups like a pro. From that moment on, I was hooked. It was a really good work-out, for one, but it was also filmed in Hawaii, so it had a beautiful backdrop. And the girls he had that showed you the moves were so pretty- I aspired to be JUST like them. Fast forward 3 months, I was 25 pounds lighter and ready to start my new high school with a bang!
I never saw Gilad after that summer. I thought he would write. I moved on to bigger and better things like Buns of Steel and The Firm... but it was never the same.
Now, at age 30, just yesterday... I was channel surfing and lo and behold who do I see?
GILAD!!!
He is STILL in Hawaii doing his morning work-outs with the same beautiful women! I was sooo happy I jumped up and started working out with him. I feel thinner already!
Now that I have TIVO I can record all I want... but there is something about doing it live.. more accountability, less distraction.
Anyway.. he is Great.. I highly recommend him if you are sick of the gym, or don't live near Runyon Canyon or just want to look at a HOT 60 year-old sweating in the Hawaiian sun.
