I guess this post only pertains to those who have a Mac, but the Apple store is a pretty great thing NYC has to offer. Of course, they are countrywide so the Store itself isn't the raison d'etre in NYC. It's the GEEKS!! And the GENIUSES!
For $100 a year you can get a private one-on-one session with a Mac guru to help you build a website, learn Final Cut, sharpen up your "indoor kid" skills.. anything you need. It is truly the best investment I have ever made.
My first session was down at the SoHo store, which is a pretty cool place to hang out and be geeky. I wasn't sure if I would like to spend a whole hour bent over my laptop with a stranger. But Jonathan made it all better. He is the BEST thing about the APPLE Store. He is smart and funny and (GASP) actually cares about the customer.
I will whore this young man to anyone I can. He is just plain awesome.
Thank you for being the 2nd thing about New York that doesn't completely blow.
Oh, he now works at the West 14th Street Apple Store- which is also pretty rockin'.
